I have been a huge fan of the Danish metal band Mnemic after stumbling across them on a late night YouTube music binge. I dug it so much I went out a grabbed a copy Sons of The System the very next day and put the entire album on repeat for a week or two. What a great friggin record. It’s this amazing combination of Math Rock and Industrial Metal that doesn’t sound anything like other bands in those generes. Most would probably call it New Metal or even progressive metal. I call it bad ass music from Vikings.
This is also the last album that featured drummer Brian Rasmussen. He hurt his knee and was apparently unable to deal with the rigorous tour schedule. What a shame. His performance on this record is spectacular and I had hoped to get a chance to see them live.
