I have heard many, many stories about the good old days with ARS. I used to work with a guy that was the steel player on Silver Eagle from The Boys From Doraville album. He didn’t like to talk about it, but every once in a while, we would get a story or two out of him. Since this song is one of my favorite ARS songs, I asked him if he knew “Lois Malone”. That joker lit up a smile like a jackass eating briars and kind of chuckled and shook his head. I think he was in shock that I actually asked such a stupid question. Well…..turns out he knew exactly who “Lois” was,  but was sworn to secrecy on what her real name was. I do remember him saying that at the time, she could drink with the best of them……and they could drink. Solid song, excellent vocals by Ronnie Hammond.
